Project Management - Leadership
 |
Mature Communicaitons
- In many cases, the project manager may not possess the specialty skills required for the
success of the project.
- The project manager generally relies on the organizational infrastructure in place for
support during implementation and the transition into production.
- Do not seek authorship or ownership of documentation. People are more likely to buy into
documents that don't have a stamped name on it.
- Winning in project management, is a successful project -- with low organizational
casualties.
- Be predictable and consistent. No need to be flamboyant.
- Number your meetings, handouts and your lists - always.

Communications and Closing The Loop
- Use every communications tool available to you. Phone, fax, email, and face to
face.
- Spend a bit of time, to understand your associates - who they are and what that value.
- Choose your method of communication -- based on efficiency and need to document.
- Use the "heads-up" communique whenever possible in person.
- Delaying a document's delivery - creates work. People expect more and you will
have to educate them on something they have forgotten.
- Be as accurate and detailed as possible when preparing written materials.
